There aren't too many episodes of any show I ever feel compelled to go back to. I also mentioned in the article that "Kobayashi" was an episode that I would go back to re-watch. The only episodes I disliked where "Lost and Found" and "First Con-Tact." I forgot to mention it in the article, but will definitely do so when I am able to review season 1 as a whole, but "Time Amok" is one of my favorite episodes of Star Trek ever. Also, yes, I did hate Dal for awhile, because I do hate those types of characters but wrote how I felt that the character was redeemed by the end of "Kobayashi." Overall, I actually liked the season and the characters, for the most part. Anyway, if you had been able to read the rest, you would have seen that I am actually glad the rest of the episodes moved away from the more action based tone that the first episode gave off. I gave my feelings of the ten episodes as a whole at the end. I literally wrote each of these episode's notes as I was watching the videos. That's the problem with going episode by episode and only having the first episode's notes for free. Looks like I’m just gonna have to do it myself then I’m going to try and review each episode of Prodigy. But it’s snarky, mean, hateful, and hidden behind a pay wall. I was really rooting for this review to be a great new positive entry point for the show. It bugs me that even now after all this time there’s still so much animosity and grumpy anger towards anything that doesn’t explicitly cater exactly to certain Star Trek fans tastes.
How is this a paid gig? Did no one proof read it? Does not help that there are major grammar mistakes within just this little preview. That’s not how you wrote an effective review. I’ve never encountered someone who was disappointed that the first two episodes were “action focused” and said the rest of the show… wasn’t? And they HATE the show for doing that? They despise Dal, what else is new? And there’s multiple times where they just say they hate something, but never elaborate on why. But from what I’ve read I am once again disappointed. I saw multiple times on Twitter this writer was working hard to review the first 10 episodes so I was super excited to see their review. I can only read the first couple paragraphs about the first episode because I’m not a paying subscriber but… not a promising start.
